During the past year, STREAM has raised £4,253. This has been achieved through a combination of fund-raising events and generous donations. Below is a summary of how we have raised these funds.
January fundraiser – Puddings, Prosecco and Punchlines!
£1,222.03
- The seed of the idea came to us when we discovered that St Laurence is the Patron Saint of Food and Comedy – what a brilliant combination! We just had to go with it.
- Thank you to Geraldine Hindley who found content and scripts, and directed actors and backstage alike.
- Thank you to everyone who participated and spent time practicing, working to set up, run and break down the show. You were all brilliant!
- Thanks also to all the pudding chefs. Such an array of yummy puddings on offer.
- The evening was a huge success. Everyone who attended and participated had a rollicking good time and went away with brightened spirits!
July fund raiser – STREAM Cream Teas
£828.10
- Thank you to Anne and Ray Sidebottom for sharing their stunningly beautiful garden with us.
- Thanks to all the bakers and helpers that made this annual village event such a success.
- We were very lucky with a lovely sunny day to enjoy the garden.
- This is a very social event when a large number of Foxtonians get together.
Donations from the community
Thank you to those in the community who have donated in creative ways.
- Homemade jam from Catherine Cairns made with fruit grown on the Foxton allotment by Jon Cairns.
- Honey donated by Richard Houghton from his Foxton bees.
- Gardening work for Foxton residents with the proceeds by Jon Cairns donated to Stream.
- Subscriptions donations given over and above the suggested amount.
Thriplow Daffodil Festival – application for grant money
£2000.00
- This year STREAM applied for a grant of £2,000.00 from the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend.
- Kimberly and Steve Tongish helped with teas at their village hall. It was good fun and as always this event is amazing with all the food, stalls, music and of course daffodils.
- We’d like to thank the Daffodil Weekend committee who awarded the full grant of£2,000 that we applied for.
Autumn Subscription renewal – Thank you Cheese and Wine evening
£203.50
It was so nice to see everyone who was able to come along. Again, we were very lucky with the weather, enjoying the last warm evening of summer together in the garden at the home of Kimberly and Steve.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us in 2024. Every penny we raise goes towards repairs and improvements to the building.
